CAR HIRE RENTALS - QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

• What deposit is required to hire a vehicle?
• R3,000.00 on the cheaper cars – R4,000.00 on our newer cars and R5,000.00 if you are going to be doing long distance.
  
  
• To rent a car, can we pay cash or must it be credit card?
• When hiring a vehicle at Bizzy Car, you can pay using cash or credit card!
  
  
• When do I get my deposit back?
• The deposit is refunded with in 48 hours of returning the vehicle less any deductions for damage's or petrol that needs to be charged.
  
  
• What is your insurance cover?
• Our insurance is fully comprehensive – your excess deposit is what will be charged should the car be written of or stolen, so the entire deposit is then used for the excess on the vehicle. Whether the incident was your fault or not the insurance company charges the excess amount to us…so you, the client, will be liable for that amount.
  Any minor damages to the vehicle will be deducted from your deposit.
  You need to have your own belongings insured and have your own life insurance…the company only covers the vehicle.
  
  
• How many Km's do you get per day?
• When renting a vechicle at Bizzy Car Hire, you get 150km per day FREE included in your daily rate.
  We do offer an "all in" km rate if you are going to be doing long distance with the vehicle, how ever your daily rate will increase to anything from R300.00 to R450.00 per day.
  
  
• Do you offer discounts on longer periods of vehicle hire? For instance is there a special rate on Monthly hires?
• We do offer discounts on longer periods of car hire…and we do offer monthly rates.

• What year model is the car?
• Our cars range from 1995 year models up to 2007.
  We are constantly changing our fleet purchasing newer vehicles.
  Our older year models are well maintained as we have a permanent mechanic on the premises.
  
  
• What type of cars do you have?
• We have Ford Tracers, Mazda 323, Hyundai Accents, VW Polo's, Toyota Tazz's & Yaris….but the fleet does change all the time!
  
  
• Are our car rentals sedan or hatchback and what color?
• Sedan and hatchbacks – mostly white but other colors as well.
  
  
• Where is your car hiring company situated?
• We are situated in Table View, 90 Raats Drive.
  20 min away from City Bowl and 30 min from the airport.
  
  
• Do you deliver and collect?
• Yes, we do deliveries and collections.
  
  
• What are the charges for delivery and collection?
• R85.00 for any deliveries and collections with in working hours,
  R100.00 delivery and collection to the airport, and
  R150.00 if it is after office hours.
  
  
• Do we collect and deliver at the airport?
• Yes, within reasonable hours!
  
  
• How does the petrol work? (Who pays for the petrol?)
• The car rental is handed over with a full tank of petrol/diesel and is to be returned with a full tank.  If the vehicle rental has not been filled on return, Bizzy Car Hire will fill the vehicle and the client will be charged or it will be deducted from your deposit.
  
  
• Can we hire a car for 1 day only?
• The minium car hire is 2 days.
  
  
• What is the minimum age to rent a car?
• 21, if you are younger than 21 the deposit excess will increase – amount subject to vehicle rental details.
  
  
• What type of driver's license is accepted?
• A valid South African driver's license card or a valid international driver's license with your passport will be accepted.  An English translation is required for licenses recorded in a foreign language.
  
  
• What is the cost for an additional driver and what is this cost for?
• A R100 once off fee is charged to add an additional driver to the contract.  This is for risk and administration related costs for multiple drivers.
  
  
• What happens if you get traffic fines?
• The renter is liable for any traffic fines received while hiring the vehicle.  We charge a R100.00 handling fee for any traffic fines received and charge that plus the fine amount to the credit card details provided.
  
  
• When will my final invoice be ready?
• The invoice will be available as soon as the contract is closed, which for most car renters is immediately after vehicle rental termination.  There are instances that this is longer, subject to the situation of refueling, damages or similar.
  
  
• What do you do in the event of a breakdown?
• In the event of a breakdown contact the office or any contact details provided to you.  We also have certain break downs we use, those details will be provided to you as well.
  
  
• Should I fill up the rental vehicle with fuel before I return it?
• The vehicle rental is handed over to you with a full tank of fuel and should be returned with a full tank of fuel.  If the rental car has not been filled, Bizzy Car Hire will fill it and charge the fuel amount to the client's credit card.
  
  
• What is a typical car rental cycle?
• Our car rentals are charged in 24-hour cycles. Late return of vehicles will result in renter's being charged for an additional day.
  
  
• What if I want to extend my vehicle rental period?
• If you wish to extend the car rental beyond the original return date, contact Bizzy Car Hire prior to the expiry of your rental agreement and inform them of your intention of extending.  Failure to do so will result in Bizzy Car Hire assuming that the hire is being extended and will charge the credit card accordingly.  If the client hasn't contacted us or is unreachable the vehicle will be reported stolen.
  
  
• What are the rules for crossing borders into other countries?
• A letter of authorization must be requested at the time of reservation for all cross-border travelling.  We need 4 days advance notification for Zimbabwe as authorities now require the original registration documents for all vehicles crossing the border. Bizzy Car Hire will not be held responsible if a renter is refused entry into anther country.  Bizzy Car Hire will not be held accountable for the lack of fuel availablility in any country the driver of the vehicle enters.  Should a vehicle need replacing, the renter may have to move the vehicle to the nearest South African border post.  This cost is for the renter's own account.
  
  Delivery of a replacement vehicle is subject to time and distance constraints and an extra fee.  Bizzy Car Hire is not responsible for any costs that my be incurred at the South African border posts or by local governments.  These include Commercial Vehicle Guarantee, permits, visas, import permits and toll fees.
  
  Vehicles are permitted into Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland, Zimbabwe, Namibia and Mozambique.
  All vehicles entering Mozambique are required to have a reflective vest and two emergency triangles.
  
  Failure to do so may result in a traffic fine.
  
  Vehicles are not permitted into Angola and Zambia (Zambia is under review)
